Can we put more than 12 people on a course?

We can accept a maximum of between 1 - 4 extra persons depending on the course. On the following three courses 12 is the absolute maximum number of course members:

  • First Aid at Work (FAW)
  • First Aid at Work Requalification (FAWR)
  • Automated External Defibrilation (AED)

Where we can accept extra attendees on a course they will be charged at £7.50 (+ VAT) per person on top of the course fee.

What does your course fee cover?

The fee for each course includes:

  • The trainer.
  • All course materials, including a First Aid manual and training pack for each person on a First Aid course.
  • The trainers travel expenses.
  • Any accomodation required for the trainer (where applicable).

Are there any extras that we need to pay for?

These are the only extras that we have to charge for:

  • Parking fees or the Congestion Charge, Where applicable, is recharged at cost.
  • Extra attendees to a course - see above.
  • Re-issue of certificates due to incorrect spelling where the enrolement form has been illegibly filled out. This is charged at £5 per certificate.
  • For Chartered Institute of Environmental Health (CIEH) the is a £10 charge for

each certificate which is made by the CIEH themselves.

What time do your courses start?

As a general rule courses run from 9.30 - 4.30. There is the odd exception to this, for example the Royal Yachting Association (RYA) First Aid course is 8 hours in duration. Therefore allowing for breaks it would actually take at least 9 hours.

If you have a specific start/finish time that you require for your course, please feel free to discuss it with us.

Can you tailor courses to our specific requirements?

Yes. Many of the courses that we run lend themselves to being adapted. If you have specific requirements, for example you are a Riding Stable or Gymnastics Club please contact us as we are more than happy to tailor courses to your specific needs, where possible.

How long are the certificates that you issue valid for?

Certificates for all of the Health and Safety and First Aid courses are valid for 3 years from the date of your course.

How much advance notification do you require for a booking?

It is preferable to book as far in advance as possible. For the two First Aid at Work (FAW) courses we need a mimimum of 4 weeks advance notice and for all other courses 2 weeks is sufficient.

If there is less than these notice periods we may still be able to run a course for you, please contact us for further information.

Where do you run your open courses?

Currently we run them in both Exeter and Plymouth. To book a place and for further information please look at the Open Courses section of this website.

If we would like a specific trainer can we book them?

We will endeavour to oblige where there are specific requests, however we are not able to guarantee specific trainers.

How many First aiders do I need?

This will depend on the size and nature of your business. The Health & Safety Executive have given guidelines and these can be found on their website at:
